What is PADI?
PADI is the Professional Association of Diving Instructors, the largest diver training program in the world. PADI has created a number of training programs for different types of diving and different levels of proficiency in diving, and they maintain standards in training for these programs, as well as training materials. They also certify scuba instructors.
The philosophy of PADI instruction is based on performance-based learning, where new divers learn practical knowledge and safety skills. In addition to practical knowledge, PADI also introduces the physics, physiology, and chemistry of diving to new divers.
PADI created Project AWARE in 1995 in order to help conserve underwater environments and to promote awareness of this issue.
If you want to become a certified scuba diver, check out the PADI Scuba Diver certification program and the PADI Open Water Diver certification program.
