PADI Open Water Diver certification
PADI Open Water Diver certification
The PADI Open Water Diver certification is a full entry level certification program where a diver completes the entire PADI Open Water Diver course in order to become proficient enough to dive independently with a buddy. PADI Open Water Diver certification qualifies you to:
- Dive independently, within the limits of your training and experience
- Procure air fills, scuba equipment, and other services
- Obtain additional training, such as the PADI Adventures in Diving program and PADI Specialty courses
This program gives you enough knowledge, training, and experience to dive independently on your own. Even though you are certified to dive independently, it is always recommended that you dive with a buddy. The minimum age for the program is 15.
In the PADI Open Water Diver program, you will complete a number of confined and open water dives to learn practical scuba skills and to gain valuable diving experience. You will also complete a thorough learning program to gain a solid foundation in diving safety and proper equipment use.
